So we had that haboob a few weeks ago and it left my front door dirt caked. And I've just been too tired when I get home from work to wash it off and I kept hoping for a really good rainstorm. Last night it came, it was awesome, the lightening was super awesome! But the rain wasn't hitting my door because of the little overhang, so I paused to think for a moment. I didn't have a bucket but I needed something to get that rain to my door. And then it came! I really don't know how or why, but I thought of my big dust pan. I hurried to grab it and used it to catch rain and whip it at my door. I soaked the whole door and then had fun taking pictures in the rain. These past two events reminded me yet again, that I need a better camera. I couldn't catch any awesome shots of the lightening, and it was BREATHTAKING. But here are a couple I took.
I love how in the one below the rain drops look frozen in air. They just look so cool to me.
But guess what!?! The next morning my door looked the same, still caked in dirt. I don't think I got a speck off. I hate the blasted heat here, it bakes everything on. But I had a good time, playing in the rain. Its welcome anytime!
