So last Thursday, after only being home 4 days I boarded a plane to Salt Lake City. An old roommate Lindsay was getting married and I was going to go to that, but more importantly I was going to see Erica! Erica was my roommate for several years, starting with our second semester of freshman year. We knew each other first semester and she moved in with me second semester. Life was a whole lot better with her around. We moved from Rexburg, ID to Provo, UT for our Junior year, yes we transferred universities together, I know pretty awesome. Then I left for a mission and when I came back, even though she had graduated she was there and we were roomies AGAIN for my senior year. We are oh so tight, I love her so much and we have so much fun together. So I knew with Linds getting married I wouldn't see much of her but I was going to spend all weekend with Erica, well thats what I thought. The trip started with an hour delay, so I got in a little before midnight with a 40 minute drive to Erica's. We chatted happily and for the next hour or so when we got to her place. Then I crashed on the couch. Friday morning Erica had to work so I helped Linds get ready for her bridal shots that evening. She left around 3pm and I finally showered and got ready. Erica was a bit late from work so she got home around 5pm. We ran a couple errands and just talked. Then she suggested pizza, specifically my FAVORITE pizza: sausage and olive papa john's pizza. I haven't had one in FOREVER. Look at the deliciousness!
I was super excited and happy, my eyes look a little crazy.
Erica enjoyed it too!
Then we were going to go to the Purple Turtle and get their version of the DQ blizzard. We walked outside to fireworks, Erica pulled out all the stops for me :) I LOVE fireworks and there just happened to be a rodeo nearby and they had fireworks at the end. They were so pretty.
We got our Tornado, funny its a similar name to Blizzard, haha. Anyways we got home to find Linds home and Erica got instructions for Saturday and they were up until about 1am. Then we went to bed. Saturday started early, Linds' hair/make-up person showed up at 4am. We had to get ready and drive to the Salt Lake Temple. I was tired but the wedding was nice and it was even cooler because Elder Oaks sealed Linds and her husband. Before the couple came in he came around and shook everyone's hands. Side note: his voice TOTALLY got deeper when he began his formal words. I thought that was kind of interesting and funny. Here was my cute wedding outfit, the earrings are new, I got them on my South trip.
Me and Bridesmaid Spectacular!
After the wedding we had a luncheon at the Blue Lemon right across from the temple. Then we drove back to Erica's apartment to get the reception decorations. We drove over to the house/backyard where the reception was going to be and NOBODY was there. It was Erica, Emily(other bridesmaid), and me to decorate. It was a bit warm working outside, and moving around decorative (full size) doors. We hadn't expected to be the only ones decorating, so that was a surprise and I was outside with Emily while Erica ironed table cloths inside. A few hours later we drove back so the bridesmaids could get back in their dresses and touch up. Then back to the reception and we finished decorating. I grabbed a quick pic with the bride before she made her entrance.
Erica was busy being a bridesmaid all evening but there were quite a few old friends that came that I could visit with. Candace, the little one in the middle was a roommate of Erica's and mine a few years ago, I hadn't seen her in THREE years! I had a good time catching up with Candacy.
Also Linds had a photo booth, I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE photo booths. So I pulled Erica away from her duties a couple times to pose in the booth. I did three different sets. Super fun. Also another old roommate showed up. Woan-ton!!! Linds, Woan, Erica and I were roomies for my senior year, so we took a reunion shot.
Super cute, huh! Ps no I am not pregnant but this dress had a thick tie/tassle thing right on my tummy so again, I look prego :( Its a really great dress in person, trust me. So by the time everything was cleaned up and we were back to Erica's place it was after midnight. I had a bit of a sore throat and was EXHAUSTED, so I had some soup and fell asleep, HARD. I didn't get up until 11am on Sunday. Erica and I got in a little more visit time, church, a tiny bit more visit time and then off to the airport I went. It was a quick and LONG weekend. I was happy to see Erica, but didn't have enough time with her. We need to see each other again soon, Erica!
I love this post and wholeheartedly agree we needed more time!
