No internet at the motel last night. So I am blogging right now .
I left Phoenix at 3pm and started driving quite tired because I was up too late the night before packing and getting ready.  I was about to find a place to pull over and take a nap when I got a call.  A guy Rich Stone from Houston, TX.  A girl in my ward used to live in Houston and loved it.  I had mentioned this trip and wanting to find a better place to live and meet LDS singles and she RAVED about Houston and said she had this guy I needed to meet, yep Rich Stone.  So he introduced himself on the phone and April hadn’t given him the details of me or what I was doing, so I did that and we chatted intermittently I would lose signal and call him back.  So we may meet up and have lunch in Houston.  The awkwardness of it and me being a bit uncomfortable chatting with a complete stranger woke me right up and kept me entertained for a bit.  Then I had another phone call to a friend I’m meeting in San Antonio.  Then I decided I needed pics of me driving, since all trips I have taken a pic of me and whoever is in the car with me, well this time its just me and Kipp.

This road went NOWHERE except to the other side of I-10, I firmly believe Cavot was made years ago just for that moment.  I headed back east and got my shot.

Entire backtrack time, 10 minutes, far better than in the Midwest with my mom.  My first real stop was Lordsburg, NM.  Where I filled up with gas and had Godfather’s pizza.  It was quite delicious, I was pretty starving I realized, it was 7pm and I hadn’t had much during the day. Then I got back on the road and got to Las Cruces, NM and the Budget Inn.  It was the cheapest I could find and my non-smoking room smelled of smoke and that old musty smell old, old houses have.

It had a King size bed that was quite comfortable though and I was only sleeping there and getting on the road early. It was a long day, but I enjoyed it, the scenery, my photo shoot in the car, and dinner.  A pretty good start to an AWESOME trip.

That’s what I named the green frog, because Mallory Kipp won him for me at Circus Circus in Vegas right before her mission (that’s another story.) As I was on the phone w/ Becky friend I’m meeting I passed the Welcom to New Mexico sign and didn’t have time to take a pic.  Yes, mom I turned around and went back, luckily the next exit was only 5 miles away not like in Missouri or wherever we were. Then as I was headed back I realized I hadn’t seen an exit BEFORE the sign in quite awhile, but miracles of miracles 1 mile after the sign was Cavot Road.
